James Thomas Ramsay, 59, Ephrata, worked at Four Seasons Produce, loved boxer dogs

James (Jim) Thomas Ramsay, 59, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, surrounded by family.

Jim was born July 31, 1956, in West Chester, to Elizabeth and Thomas Ramsay.

He was raised in Wilmington, Del., where he graduated from Concord High School in 1974. Jim attended the University of Delaware where he was a proud member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Jim was a talented cook and baker, and spent many years in the restaurant industry. He especially enjoyed the summers he spent running the Crust and Crumb Bakery in Long Beach Island, N.J. Most recently, Jim worked for Four Seasons Produce in Ephrata. Jim had a passion for animals, and was especially fond of boxers. His most recent best friend, Auggie, was always by his side.

In addition to his parents, Jim is survived by his brother: Stephen (Kathy) of Chesapeake City, Md.; and sisters: Susan (Scott) Judge of Wilmington, Del.; and Karen (John) Krauland of Pittsburgh. Jim is also survived by a niece: Ashley Judge; and nephews: Bobby Judge, and Lee and Eric Sifford.

Services will be held in Ephrata, at the Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company, 135 S. State St., on March 19 at 11 a.m. Lunch will immediately follow the service.

The family suggests contributions be made in Jim’s memory to the Lancaster County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals located at 848 S. Prince St., Lancaster, PA 17603.
