Jay Herbert Kieffer, 89, Akron, Armstrong worker, enjoyed motorcycles, baseball

Jay Herbert Kieffer, 89, of Akron, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Rothsville to the late Charles and Stella (Buchter) Kieffer, and was the husband of Shirley A. (Eitnier) Kieffer.

Jay worked in the inlaid department at Armstrong World Industries for 43 years. He enjoyed swimming, riding motorcycles, photography, traveling, horseback riding, and was a baseball fan.

In addition to his wife, Jay is survived by a daughter: Sharon K., wife of Dan Rhoads of Akron.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Charles, Barton, Paul, and Nevin Kieffer.

Services and Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in Jay’s memory may be made to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
