John F. Hilton, 68, father of two, Dorma worker, Stevens fire police, Barnstormers fan

John F. Hilton, 68, formerly of Adamstown, passed away early Monday morning, Oct. 8, 2018 at The Gardens of Stevens skilled nursing facility.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Robert W. and S. Helen (Boldt) Hilton.

John had worked in manufacturing at Dorma in Reamstown. For many years he served as Fire Police for the Stevens Fire Company and participated in all the fire company events. He was also a Lancaster Barnstormers fan and enjoyed going to baseball games.

John is survived by two sons: Shawn Hilton; and Shannon Hilton, husband of Angie, all of Denver; three grandchildren: and five siblings: Robert R. Hilton of Woodbridge Va.; Joy C. Texter of Reading; his twin, Leonard E. Hilton, husband of Sharon, of Stevens; Susan J. Devert, wife of James, of Rexmont; and James D. Hilton of Exeter.

He was predeceased by a brother-in-law: Harvey L. Texter.

A viewing will be held Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 to 11 a.m;. and the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 34-38 N. Reamstown Road, Reamstown. Revered C. Michael Roney will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Stevens Fire Company, 91 Stevens Road, Stevens, PA 17578.
