Joletta F. Nebel, 52, English teacher, counselor, enjoyed movies, caring for her pets

Joletta Fahnestock Nebel, 52, of Camp Hill, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, from the effects of breast cancer.

She was born May 14, 1964, in Ephrata, to Joanne Eberly (wife of Bill) LeFever of Ephrata, and the late Victor Fahnestock.

Joletta graduated from Ephrata High School Class of 1982, and received her undergraduate degree in 1986 at Shippensburg University. She received a master’s degree in humanities at Shippensburg University and also earned her master’s degree in counseling from Millersville University. She worked at Cumberland Valley High School for 16 years as an English teacher and nine years as a counselor with CAIU at St. Joseph Catholic School in Mechanicsburg. Joletta enjoyed cooking, reading, movies, and the arts. She loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed caring for her pets.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years: Charles R. “Chuck” Nebel Jr. of Camp Hill; two sisters: Jonelle Fahnestock of Columbus, Ohio; and Jadene (and husband Dale) Henly of Lebanon; and nephews: Matt and Kurt Henly, both of Lebanon. Joletta will be dearly missed by her countless friends.

Services were held May 31 at Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, Lititz. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 E. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg. There will be a visitation on Wednesday at the church from 5 p.m. until the time of the services.
