Joseph J. Bilger, 77, Ephrata, bowler, worked at Reading Post Office, Cocalico SD

Joseph J. Bilger, 77, of Ephrata, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 at Denver Health & Rehab.

His wife, the late Cynthia J. Bilger, passed away Sept. 11, 2008. Joseph was born in Reading, son of the late George and Ethel (Esser) Bilger.

He was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Ephrata and a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked at the Reading post office as garage supervisor and most recently in the mail department at Cocalico School District. Joseph loved to bowl and threw several 300 games. He also liked traveling and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by a daughter: Crystal, wife of Thomas Trout of Jackson, Miss.; two sons: James Bilger, husband of Linda, of Ephrata; and Frank Bilger, husband of Tina, of Ephrata; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, Ephrata on Jan. 12. Interment was in Memory Gardens, E. Cocalico Twp.
