Juanita M. McDowell, 83, Martin’s grocery clerk, Grace Church member, enjoyed camping
Juanita M. McDowell, 83, of Clay, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at Manor Care in Lancaster.
She was born in Franklin to the late Robert and Laura (Hale) Rodgers and was the wife of Harry E. “Edwin” McDowell Sr., with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
She was a member of Grace Church in Ephrata, and enjoyed camping, crocheting, and traveling. Juanita had worked as a knitter for Cinderella Knitting Mills, and later as a clerk for Martin’s Grocery.
In addition to her husband, Juanita is survived a son: Harry E. McDowell Jr., husband of Anna, of North Carolina; a daughter: Debra Lynne, wife of Robert Trostle, of Denver; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister: Helen, wife of Bill Russell, of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by nine siblings: Norm Rodgers, Grace Murry, Jerry Tarr, Shirley Vogus, Pat “Little” Rodgers, Ethel Rodgers, Donald Rodgers, Judy Rodgers, and Doris Jean Rodgers; and a step-brother: Robert Rodgers.
Services were held March 17 at Grace Church, Ephrata, with Pastor Kim G. Robertson officiating. Interment took place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
