Katharine Plowmaker, 79, Beaver Falls school teacher, attended Reformed Presbyterian

Katharine Plowmaker, 79, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at Brethren Village.

She was born in Cecil Township to the late James Burt and Erla Elizabeth (Dean) Willson and was the wife of the late Phillip Eugene Plowmaker.

She was a member of Geneva Reformed Presbyterian Church for more than 40 years and attended Reformed Presbyterian Church, Ephrata. Katharine was a teacher for Beaver Falls School District. She was a 1958 graduate of Geneva College.

Katharine is survived by a son: James Richard, husband of Beth Plowmaker, of Ephrata; a daughter: Melissa Plowmaker Carrasco, wife of Romao Carrasco, of Denver; a brother: David, husband of Bonnie Willson, of Beaver Falls; a sister: Erla Jean, wife of Wendell McBurney, of Zionsville, Ind.; five grandchildren: Phillip, Hannah, and Owen Plowmaker; and Katharine and Zaccheus Carrasco.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 6, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Reformed Presbyterian Church, 21 E. Locust St., Ephrata, followed a memorial service at 3 p.m., with Pastor Bruce Backensto. An additional memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 10 a.m., at the First Reformed Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls, 209 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls. Interment will take place in the Mars Cemetery.
