Kenneth R. Martin, 88, Navy vet, worked at Malleable Castings, enjoyed boating, fishing
Kenneth R. Martin, 88, of Lititz, and formerly of Ephrata, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at United Zion Retirement Community in Lititz.
Kenny was born in Voganville, on June 15, 1928. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-48 and worked for Lancaster Malleable Castings Co. for 44½ years, retiring in 1990 as a melting foreman.
Kenny was a member of the AmVets and VFW, and was the “honorary mayor” of The Hill in Ephrata. He loved boating, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are two stepsons: Gary Mellinger (Kathryn), and Dale Mellinger (Roxanne); four grandchildren: Gary, Heather, Jessica, and Jennifer; six great-grandchildren; and his longtime companion, Karen S. Enck.
Kenny was preceded in death by his wife: Loyce L. (Schnader) Martin; parents: Moses M. and Agnes S. (Conrad) Martin; and sister: Joan Summers.
Funeral services were held April 8 at Gravenor Home for Funerals, Ephrata. Interment with military honors was at St. Stephen Cemetery in New Holland.
