Laban H. Martin, 85, Summers Trucking retiree, Hinkletown Mennonite member

Laban H. Martin, 85, formerly of Terre Hill, died on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 at Fairmount Homes.

He was married 59 years to Anna Mae Yoder Martin. Born in East Earl, he was the son of the late Jonas D. and Mariah Horst Martin.

Laban was a truck driver and retired from Lester R. Summers Trucking after 44 years of employment. He was a member of the Hinkletown Mennonite Church, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters: Anita, wife of Dennis Gettel of Denver; and Donna, wife of Kevin Gerber of Lititz; a son: Brian, husband of Gretchen Martin of Bowmansville; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers: Edgar, husband of Helen June Martin of Lititz; and Elmer, husband of Elsie Martin of Lampeter.

He was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter; and by two brothers: Abel and Nathan Martin.

Services were held Jan. 12 at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, Ephrata. Interment followed in the adjoining church cemetery.
