Lavern ‘Bru’ Brubaker, 66, worked at High Concrete, Eagles fan, enjoyed hunting, time spent with family

Lavern Wilbur “Bru” Brubaker, 66, of Ephrata, passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at Reading Hospital.

He was born in Lancaster County to the late Howard R. and Anna Mae (Habecker) Brubaker, and was the husband of Rose Marie (Hall) Brubaker, with whom he shared more than 37 years of marriage.

Lavern was a construction worker for High Concrete. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bowling, spotting for deer, and hunting. He was an Eagles fan, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Lavern is survived by a son: Cory Lee, husband of Sarah Brubaker of Reading; two stepsons: Michael Miller of Ephrata, Morris E. Carvell Sr. of Myerstown; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Althea Rollaman of Ephrata; and Angela, wife of Lester Smith of Hagerstown, Md.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Donald Allen Brubaker; and a brother: Vernon Howard Brubaker.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
