Lawrence Manmiller, 87, WWII vet, worked at Wernersville Hospital, avid bowler

Lawrence Laverne Manmiller Jr., 87, of Wernersville, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015, at the Reading Hospital.

He was born in Reading to the late Lawrence L. Manmiller Sr.

Lawrence served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had worked as a custodian at the Wernersville State Hospital. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by two sons: Thomas Manmiller of Ephrata; Kevin, husband of Patricia Manmiller of Seven Valleys; two daughters: Kim, wife of James Fromm of Ephrata; Lisa, wife of Edward Gormley of South Carolina; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Vivian Sweitzck of Hamburg.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a grandchild.

A graveside service was held April 7 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with military honors.
