Mahlon W. Stauffer, 81, father of six, married 58 years, attended Stauffer Mennonite Church

Mahlon W. Stauffer, 81, of Bainbridge, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Nov. 24, 2016.

He was born Oct. 24, 1935, in Ephrata, a son of the late Jacob and Magdalene Stauffer. He was married on Sept. 21, 1958, to Arlene Zimmerman, who survives. His passing breaks a marital union of 58 years.

He was a farmer. Mr. Stauffer was a member of the Stauffer Mennonite Church, Bainbridge.

In addition to his wife he is survived by six children: Julie, wife of Willis Martin, of Ephrata; Joel (Lois) Stauffer of Bainbridge, Ohio; Roxann, wife of Lloyd Martin, of Denver; Russell (Hilda) Stauffer of Tunas, Mo.; Twila, wife of Jesse Martin, of Peebles, Ohio; and Ida Rose, wife of Glen Martin, of Bainbridge, Ohio. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; one brother: William (Mary) Stauffer of Ephrata; one sister: Magdalene, wife of Donald Wenrich, of Mohnton; a sister-in-law: Mary (Ivan) Stauffer; and many nieces and nephews.

Mahlon was preceded in death by three brothers: Paul, Ivan, and Jacob; and seven sisters: Mary Ann, Priscilla, Sarah, Susanna, Martha, Rachel, and Miriam.

Services were held Nov. 28 at Stauffer Mennonite Church, Bainbridge, Ohio. Burial followed in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
