Marjorie W. Ruth, 84, formerly of Akron, worked for MCC, enjoyed quilting, music, birds

Marjorie W. Ruth, 85, passed away Wednesday at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen, Ind.

She was born Aug. 31, 1929 in Beatrice, Neb., to Leo H. and Anna M. (Wiens) Wienss. On Nov. 20, 1953, she married Paul L. Ruth in Beatrice. He died Dec. 2, 2011.

Marjorie moved to Goshen, Ind., in October 2004 from Akron where she was a member of the Akron Mennonite Church. She retired as an administrative assistant from Mennonite Central Committee. A member of College Mennonite Church, she enjoyed quilting, needlework, music and birds.

Survivors include two daughters: Janet (David Krueper) Ruth, of Corrales, N.M.; and Rita Rupp, Goshen, Ind.; two sons: Douglas Ruth, Sunnyvale, Calif.; and Michael (Laura) Ruth, Longmont, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and a sister: Carol Epp, Minneapolis, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister: Norma Friesen.

Services were held at College Mennonite Church, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Greencroft Foundation or Mennonite Central Committee.
