Martha K. Hurst, 90, MV Mennonite member, had 103great-grandchildren, married 70 years

Martha K. Hurst, 90, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018, at Fairmount Homes.

She was born in East Earl to the late Isaac G. and Katie (Kurtz) Sensenig, and was the wife of Amos W. Hurst Sr., with whom she shared 70 years of marriage.

Martha was a homemaker and a member of Meadow Valley Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

In addition to her husband, Martha is survived by four sons: Leonard (Laura Martin) Hurst of Lititz, Isaac (Carolyn Eberly) Hurst of Akron, Amos Jr. (Carolyn Seibel) Hurst of Lititz, Kenneth (Dolores Rutt) Hurst of Ephrata; four daughters: Velma Nolt (Nelson) of Drumore, Doris Weaver (Curtis) of Ephrata, Jane Weaver of Beavertown, Nancy Hurst of Ephrata; a brother-in-law: Jonas Nolt of Newville; 34 grandchildren; 103 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Jay Melvin Weaver; two grandchildren: Kendra Hurst and Joshua Weaver; five brothers: Lloyd, Allen, Rufus, Isaac, and John Sensenig; and three sisters: Vera (Mahlon) Martin, Katie (Jacob) Reiff, Alta Nolt. She was the last of her immediate family.

Services were held March 16 at Meadow Valley Mennonite Church, Ephrata, with Bishop Lester B. Martin and Ministers Elam Ray Martin, Gary Zimmerman and Jay Martin officiating. Interment followed in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
