Mary Phipps, 52, was lab technician for Covance

Mary F. Phipps, 52, of Liberty Lane, Kirkwood, died at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012 following a lengthy illness with renal failure.

She and her husband, Donald C. Phipps Jr., would have celebrated 25 years of marriage in November. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Mary Alice Duncan Watson of Kirkwood and the late Richard Kenneth Thompson.

Mary had been employed as a lab technician for Covance in Denver. The things that gave her great joy in life were her family and her animals.

Surviving besides her husband and mother are a daughter: Amy Roake, of Ephrata; a stepson: Jedd, husband of Monic Phipps, of East Earl; five nieces; four nephews; two sisters: Denise Umble and Patricia Lowe; and a brother: Tony Duncan.

Mary was preceded in death by her stepfather: Clayton Watson; and her stepson: Joshua Phipps.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
