Melanio ‘Mel’ Serrano, 87, Baldwin Brass retiree, a devoted and loving family man

Melanio “Mel” Serrano, 87, of Ephrata, passed away surrounded by family on Jan. 8, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalina.

Mel was retired from Baldwin Brass in Reading. Mel was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters: Yolanda, Adamstown; Cynthia, wife of Richard Potts, Ephrata; three grandchildren: Danielle, Alex, and Brian; three brothers; and one sister.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by both of his parents; and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, at Gravenor Home for Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata. Friends will be received before the service from 5 to 6 p.m. Interment will be private and at the discretion of the family.
