Melvin Lorah, 74, truck driver, vet

Melvin Horace Lorah, 74, of Manheim, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at his son’s home.

He was born in Stevens to the late Horace Lorah and Dorothy Ludwig.

Melvin worked as a truck driver for Kenosha Auto Transport for many years. He was a veteran of the Korean War with the 11th Airborne Division. He was also known as Pops.

He is survived by three sons: Rick, husband of Donna Lorah, of Reamstown; Dave, husband of Terri Lorah, of Manheim; and Anthony Lorah, of Akron; and a stepson: Jeff Martin, of Manheim; several grandchildren: Dave, Steve and Nicole Lorah; and Tina and Ricky Lorah; along with several stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Richard Lorah; and sister: Eleanor Lorah.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in Melvin’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Jacksonville, PA 32256.
