A memorial service for RainBear (RB) Mahoney, the medicine woman of the Eastern Delaware Nations, who passed away April 12, has been planned.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the service at Eicher Arts Center’s Indian Museum at the Ephrata Park, 407 Cocalico St., Ephrata, on Solstice, Monday June 20, at 7 p.m., with a visitation to follow.

RB studied the medicinal uses of the world’s herbs with a practical knowledge and traditional accuracy in order to aid people, native or not, to health through alternative methods.

RainBear’s passion for working with dogs was evident in her calming touch when she was grooming them and in her energy as a handler when she was showing them. She was known for her giving nature and willingly shared her knowledge of dogs and medicinal use of herbs with those she knew and met.
