Millie M. McCreary, 84, Dutchmaid worker, member of Denver, Stevens fire companies
Millie M. McCreary, 84, formerly of Denver, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, at The Gardens at Stevens Nursing Home.
She was born in Newmanstown to the late Earl and Edna (Groh) Schware, and was the wife of the late Eugene McCreary, who passed away in July 1998.
Millie was a former member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, and had been a member of the Denver and Stevens Fire companies. She had worked for Quinlain Pretzel Co., and later for Dutchmaid. She enjoyed bingo, puzzles, word searches, crocheting, reading, and her pet poodles.
Millie is survived by three daughters: Kathy, wife of Joseph Gehman, of Stevens; Vicki, wife of Carl Haws, of Ephrata; Jean Althouse of Denver; two granddaughters: Bonnie Gehman of Denver; and Misti, wife of Andrew Sweigart, of Denver; and a brother: Vernon, husband of Shirley Schware, of Myerstown
Services were held March 28 at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver, with the Rev. Donald Stauffer officiating. Interment took place in the Fairview Cemetery.
