Minnie B. Latshaw, 96, West Cocalico native, worked at Miller Hess Shoe Co., great cook

Minnie B. Latshaw, 96, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at Calvary Fellowship Homes in Lancaster.

She was born in West Cocalico Township to the late Isaac H. and Nora S. (Bard) Latshaw and was the wife of Peter Emmi, with whom she shared 21 years of marriage.

She was a lifetime member of Mellinger’s Lutheran Church in Schoeneck. She was a great cook and made excellent pies and doughnuts. She loved needlework and gardening, and family was very important to her. In the early years Minnie worked for the Miller Hess Shoe Co. in Akron.

In addition to her husband, Minnie is survived by a stepson: Philip Emmi of Indiana; and two step-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson: Joseph Emmi; two brothers: William Latshaw and Earl Latshaw; and two sisters: Emma Latshaw and Stella Buchter.

A viewing will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Mellinger’s Lutheran Church, 80 Gockley Road, Stevens. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Timothy L. Craven officiating. Interment will take place in the Mellinger’s Cemetery.
