Miriam S. Martin, 95, Chapman Old Order Mennonite Church member, mother of six
Miriam S. Martin, 95 of Port Trevorton, died on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 at her home.
She was the wife of the late Marvin S. Martin. She was born on Sept. 17, 1923 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Ezra W. and Lydia (Seibel) Auker.
Miriam was a member of Chapman Old Order Mennonite Church, Port Trevorton.
She is survived by her five children and their spouses: Marlin A. and Anna (Sensenig) Martin of Ohio, Esther A. and Noah S. Martin of Port Trevorton, Mildred A. Martin of Port Trevorton, Clair A. and Miriam (Gehman) Martin of Ephrata, and Irene A. and Amos S. Martin of Ontario, Canada; 17 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Miriam was preceded in death by an infant son: Marvin A. Martin; three sisters: Mabel Brubaker, Anna Christ, and Arlene Auker; and a brother, Irvin Auker.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the family home, 2543 Hoffer Road, Port Trevorton. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, at the family home, with further services at 9:30 a.m. at Chapman Old Order Mennonite Church, Blackwoods Road, Port Trevorton. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Mt. Pleasant Mills, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
