Nolan Michael Himes, 23, played lacrosse at Warwick H.S. and Slippery Rock U., loved music

Nolan Michael Himes, 23, of Lititz, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2015 after a courageous four-year battle with Ewings Sarcoma.

Born in Lancaster, he was a son of Mike E. Himes and Lisa Bonfield both of Lititz.

Nolan graduated in 2011 from Warwick High School where he was a member of the Lacrosse team. He loved playing lacrosse, hanging out with his friends, listening to music, traveling, going to the beach especially St. Martin, and Dewey Beach, playing basketball and enjoyed exercising. Nolan never knew a stranger and never let his fight with cancer get him down. He wanted to live life and spend as much time with his friends and family as he could. He attended Slippery Rock University to study physical therapy and was a member of the lacrosse team.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother: Brady N. Himes; maternal grandmother: Rachelle Rickens-Bonfield of Lititz; maternal aunt: Marianne Bonfield; paternal aunts: Pam Harding, Ephrata; Patti Martin; and Carol Keith; paternal uncle: Wayne Shenk, Ephrata; great aunt and uncle: Marianne and Reggie Bonfield; and numerous cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: John Bonfield.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 28 at 11:30 a.m. from the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike Lititz. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening and from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Brunnerville United Methodist Cemetery.
