Norman Sweigart, vet, Black Angus employee

Norman L. Sweigart, 81, of Denver, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 at Ephrata Community Hospital.

Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Christian and Edna (Lefever) Sweigart and was the husband of the late Esther (Stoner) Sweigart .

He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 16th Armored Engineer Battalion, First Armored Division.

Norman was of the Lutheran faith. He loved to fish and hunt and he loved the mountains. He had worked at the Black Angus.

Norman is survived by five children: Glenn, husband of Dawn (Sweigart) Sweigart, of Hahnstown; Barbara Weaver, of Denver; Kenneth, husband of Alicia (Ranck) Sweigart, of New Holland; Shirley Sweigart, of Denver; and Linda Kelly, of Lancaster; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother: Robert Sweigart, of Myerstown; and four sisters: Arlene Sensenig, of Florida; Grace Sauder, of East Earl; Pauline Klopp, of Schoeneck; and Shirley Burkhart, of Lancaster.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Arthur Sweigart.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
