Olive E. Frey, 85, formerly of Ephrata, enjoyed crocheting, time with her family

Olive E. Frey, 85, formerly of Ephrata and resident of Westminster Place at Stewartstown, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. She was the wife of the late Eugene W. Habecker.

Born May 31, 1929, in Winterstown, York County, Olive was a daughter of the late William E. and Mary E. (Hartwick) Torbert.

She was a member of Ephrata Church of God where she was active in various church ministries. Olive enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved animals and cherished her memories of her pets, Missy cat and Dillon dog.

Olive is survived by a daughter: Jeannie Billet and her husband, Skip of Windsor; granddaughters: Vanissa Rohrman and her husband, David of Windsor; and Ginger Garner and her husband, Cory of Brogue; four great-grandchildren: Joey and Valerie Miller, Cassidy Rohrman, and Emily Garner; and three sisters: Helen Hudson and her husband, Bob of Carlisle; Janet Gohn and her husband, Dale of Felton; and Thelma Stump and her husband, Ray of Newville.

Olive was also preceded in death by a sister: Nellie Torbert.

A viewing will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. A funeral will immediately follow with the Rev. Barry C. Robison officiating. Interment will follow the service at Windsor Church of God Cemetery, Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heavenly Paws Animal Shelter, 3678 Aldinger Road, Seven Valleys, PA 17360.
