Paul E. Kring, 91, WWII vet, Northeastern Lumber Co. estimator, enjoyed woodworking

Paul E. Kring, 91, of Denver, formerly of Mohnton, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, in the Mount Joy Hospice Center.

Born in Brecknock Township, he was a son of the late Alvin K. and Mamie (Kissinger) Kring. His wife, Shirley A. (Hartz) Kring, died Jan. 22, 2014.

A member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville, he also sang in the church choir. Paul was an estimator for 38 years with Northeastern Lumber Company, Reading. He was a World War II Navy veteran, member of Reinholds VFW, charter-life member of Adamstown VFW, and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Surviving are his sons: Jeffery D. Kring, Mohnton; Joel A. (Linn Enoch) Kring, Wernersville; and Jamie P. (Cheryl Dirks) Kring, Leesport; grandchildren: Laura Kring, Jason Kring, Stephanie Weaver, Darrin Weaver, Rochelle Allgyer, and Derrick Lush; great-grandson: Lincoln Lush; and sisters: Beatrice Hassler, Barbara (Bob) Getz, and Mary (Jim) Stewart, all Denver; and Shirley (Fred) Leathery, Ephrata.

A sister, Betty Harting Buckwalter, predeceased him.

A memorial celebration of life will be held on Friday, Dec. 29, at 6 p.m. from Peace UCC, 37 E. Swartzville Road, Denver. The family will receive friends following the service. Private inurnment will be in Allegheny Union Cemetery.
