Paul Robert Markley, 72, Landis & Haines carpet installer, enjoyed time at The Deck, PSU fan

Paul Robert Markley, 72, of Ephrata, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Lancaster to the late Paul Leroy and Irene (Sipe) Markley, and was the husband of the late Barbara Markley.

Paul was a carpet installer for Landis and Haines, Lancaster. He was an avid Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles fan. He enjoyed visiting The Deck in Ephrata and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was liked by everyone he met and was affectionately known as a goofball.

Paul is survived by two daughters: Melissa Ferrari, at home; Tammy, wife of Mike Helm, of Willow Street; a stepson: Matthew A., husband of Lori Ann (Leitch) Stipe; five grandchildren: Heather, Ryan and Tiffany Ferrari; Lakin and Zachary Wanous; a nephew: Joseph, husband of Lisa (Allmond) Scarborough; a niece: Lisa, wife of Julio Rivera; and a sister: Delores Scarborough of Lancaster.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson: Alex Michael Ferrari.

Services were held March 18 at Stradling Funeral Home, Akron. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
