Pauline H. ‘Polly’ Shirk, 89, Town Hall Restaurant retiree, bus driver, GSFR Auxiliary member
Pauline H. “Polly” Shirk, 89, formerly of Blue Ball, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 at The Groves in Ephrata.
Her husband, Willis G. Shirk, preceded her in death in 2004. Born in Denver, she was the daughter of the late George Paul and Mary E. (Rogers) Krick.
Polly was a graduate of the former Terre Hill High School. She waitressed at Town Hall Restaurant for 28 years, retiring in 1994 and drove school bus for Eastern Lancaster County School District for 28 years, retiring in 1996.
A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Holland, she had also been active in the Blue Ball Lioness Club, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the former Blue Ball Fire Company, now Garden Spot Fire Rescue.
She is survived by two children: Jeff Shirk of Mesa, Ariz.; and Susan Shirk of St. Augustine, Fla.; a grandson: Jeffrey Shirk, two great-grandchildren: Zachery and Bryan Shirk, Atlanta, Ga.; a brother: George V. “Puss” Krick, Reading; and a niece: Vickie Lutz, Reading.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul Jack Krick and John R. Krick.
Funeral services were Jan. 23 at Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
