Perette Louise Fasnacht, 58, Ephrata native, LGH, Reading Hospital nurse, loved the beach

Perette Louise Fasnacht, 58, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.
She was born in Ephrata to Patricia Ann (Hess) Ressler and the late Paul Herbert Hoover, and was the wife of Robert Fasnacht, with whom she shared 14 years of marriage.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Akron and her faith has been her cornerstone throughout her life. She loved running, the outdoors and trips to the beach.
Perette was a 1974 graduate of Ephrata High School, a 1977 graduate of Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing, and attained a bachelor’s degree in 2000 and a master’s degree in 2005 at Millersville University. She was a member of the American Nurses Assn., American College of Cardiology, Central PA Nurse Practitioners, Preventative Cardiovascular Nurses Assoc., Alpha Epsilon of Lankenau, Delta Phi Eta of Millersville, and Sigma Theta Tau of Millersville.
Throughout her life she worked for: Lancaster General Hospital from 1981 to 1990 in the inpatient/outpatient oncology unit, Reading Hospital from 1990 to 1997 as the director of nursing/assistant sub acute care, Community Hospital Home Health from 1997 to 2001, Lancaster General from 2001 to 2005 on 6 Lime, a CRNP for Heart Specialists of Lancaster in 2005, and Wellspan Preventative Cardiology from 2008 to 2013.
Perette is survived by her mother: Patricia Ann (Hess) Ressler; a daughter: Tara (Bender), wife of Anastasio Santos of Lancaster; two step-daughters: Katrina, wife of Kleon Zimmerman; and Celia Fasnacht, both of Ephrata; three brothers: Perry, husband of Sheila (Horst) Hoover of Elizabethtown; Kevin Ressler and companion Wendy Onda of Lititz; and Andy, husband of Jackie (Christ) Ressler of Elizabethtown; a sister: Pamela Hoover of Willow Street; and three grandchildren: Gavin, Mikaela and Mia.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by step-father: Clarence Ira Ressler; paternal grandparents: Paul and Mary Hoover; maternal grandfather: Walter Hicks Hess; and maternal grandmother: Miriam (Nelms-Hess) Zook.
A viewing will be held Friday, Jan. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. 9th St., Akron. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m., at the Zion Lutheran Church, 435 Main St., Akron, with Matthew Lenahan officiating. Family will receive friends after the service. Interment will take place in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
