Randall Lee Royer, 51, EHS grad, senior project manager for Ames, great cook

Randall “Randy” Lee Royer, 51, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Del., while he was vacationing at his favorite spot in Rehoboth Beach.

He was born in Ephrata to David and Brenda (Oberholtzer) Royer, and was the husband of Lori (Shaub) Royer, with whom he shared more than 25 years of marriage.

Randy graduated from Ephrata High School, Class of 1983, and from the Pennsylvania State University with a structural engineering degree. Randy was a senior project manager for Ames Construction Inc. where he was employed for more than 26 years. Randy was an avid Eagles fan and enjoyed the Philadelphia Flyers, but his all time favorite player to watch was his son, Chad. He loved NASCAR, especially Kyle Busch, Indy car racing, and Team Penske. He was an exceptional cook who enjoyed serving his family and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Randy is survived by a son: Chad Royer of Ephrata; a sister: Tracy, wife of Timothy Zimmerman; two nephews: Matthew and Kyle; and a niece: Mason.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., at the Bethany United Church of Christ, 140 E. Main St., Ephrata, followed by funeral services at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. William J. LaSalle officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in Randy’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
