Ray G. Kauffman, 84, Reinholds, former W. Cocalico Twp. supervisor and roadmaster, motorcyclist

Ray G. Kauffman, 84, of Reinholds, passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at HCR ManorCare in Sinking Spring.

He was born in West Cocalico Township to the late Isaac and Mamie (Gerhart) Kauffman and was the husband of Betty A. (Johe) Kauffman, with whom he would have shared 65 years of marriage on Sept. 16.

He was a member of the Swamp Evangelical Lutheran Church. A former West Cocalico Township supervisor and roadmaster, Ray retired after 30 years in 1998. He also worked as a livestock dealer and hauler. Ray enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by a son: Terry, husband of Candace L. (Seiverling) Kauffman of Lancaster; a granddaughter: Tracy L. Kauffman; a great-granddaughter: Ashlyn Ellis; two brothers: Harold, husband of Betty Jane (Sweigart) Kauffman of Reinholds; and Donald, husband of Patsy (Keiper) Kauffman of Reinholds; and two sisters: Helen Schaeffer of Wernersville; and Arlene, wife of Martin Zimmerman of Denver.

A viewing will be held Thursday, Aug. 13, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m., with Pastor Dennis L. Trout officiating. Interment will take place in the Swamp Cemetery.
