Raymond R. Long, 83, of Reinholds, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at Manor Health Care, Sinking Spring.

Born in Reinholds, he was the son of the late Raymond and Carrie (Rentz) Long. Ray and his wife, Joan L. (Becker) Long, were married for 63 years.

He was a member of Swamp Lutheran Church, Reinholds, and was a former member of Council and the Food Committee. Ray was a 50-year member of Reading Lodge #549 F.&A.M., and past president and past director of Rajah Shrine Directors Staff.

Ray was the owner of the former R.R. Long, Jr., Inc. and co-owner of the former Long Masonry, Inc.

Ray was preceded in death by brothers Harold, Leroy and Marvin.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Craig A. Long, Long Neck, Del. and a daughter: Yvonne L. (Robert) McKeldin, Felton, Del; grandchildren: Eric F. Long, Newmanstown; Gillian Masten, Baton Rouge, La. and Zoe Masten, Feldon, Del.

Friends and family attended his funeral Feb. 4 at the Swamp Lutheran Church, Reinholds, with Pastor Dennis L. Trout officiating. Interment will take place in the Swamp Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring, may send memorial contributions in Ray’s memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
