Richard L. Reber, 83, long-time painter, Ephrata Fire Police volunteer, liked woodworking

Richard L. Reber, 83, of Ephrata, passed away on Feb. 14, 2018, at home

Richard was born in Ephrata to James W. Reber and Florence (Longenecker) Reber on June 24, 1934.

He worked as a painter more than 40 years. He volunteered with the Ephrata Fire Police for a number of years. Richard loved fishing, woodworking, privacy, and feeding the squirrels (and anyone else who showed up.)

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Helen (Hornberger) Reber; two grandsons; and five siblings.

Richard is survived by five children: Janice L. Shiffler (Barry) of Mohnton; Freda L. Schrock (Randy) of Akron; Dawn L. (Reber) Hoffmaster of Manheim; Terry L. Reber of Denver; Sherry L. Gregory (Jeffrey) of Ephrata; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are two sisters: Gerry Brown and Nancy Weaver both of Ephrata.

At Richard’s request, there will be no funeral services.
