Richard P. Hines Sr., 77, mechanic, square dancer
He was born in Ridley Park to the late Walter T. and Violet M. (Sporel) Hines and was the husband of Mary Jane (Reigle) Hines.
During his working years, Richard was an automobile mechanic. He enjoyed square and round dancing and was a square dance caller for special events. He was a member of the Swing Thru Square Dance Club, member of several Caller Associations and was the lead guitar player for the group “Varieties” with his brothers, John Sr., John Jr., Alex and Hank in Delaware County.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter: Sharon Sue, wife of Thomas R. Weitzel; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law: Helen Hines; a brother: Harry Hines; a sister: Adda Gontarz; a sister-in-law: Leona Foresman and many nieces and nephews. Richard was one of nine children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard P. Hines Jr.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
