Robert E. Seibel, 76, honored USMC vet, Acme Markets retiree, Norlanco Fish and Game treasurer
Robert E. Seibel, 76, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Ephrata Community Hospital.
Robert was born in Millway to R. Ellwood Seibel and Mary E (Mohn) Seibel on Aug. 9, 1940. He was a 1958 graduate of Ephrata High School. Robert married Audrey Heil on June 11, 1960, in Akron Lutheran Church.
He worked as everything from stock boy to assistant manager for Acme Markets for 43 years, retiring in 2000. Robert served in the United States Marine Corps, and was awarded both the good conduct medal and expert rifleman badge. He was a member of the Ephrata Blue Lodge 665 and the Reading Consistory. He was treasurer of Northern Lancaster County Fish and Game for 40 years, and a longtime member of Norka Hunting Lodge in Potter County.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are two children: Kimberley Cox, wife of David M, of Ephrata; and Tracy Seibel of Ephrata. Also surviving are grandsons: Michael Cox and Trevor Seibel, and Alex Seibel, all of Ephrata; and a sister: Gloria, wife of Ronald Bell, of San Francisco, Calif.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, March 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Thursday, March 23, from 10 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Kim Ream will officiate. Visitation and services will be held at Gravenor Home for Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata.
