Robert Stanley Becker, Ephrata native, Eastern Electric  clerk, Navy softball team pitcher

Robert Stanley Becker of Springfield, Mass., passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday Sept. 30, 2018.

He was the husband of Giuseppina (Zenga) Becker, and the father of Bridgette Langevin, Anthony Becker, Charles Becker and Thomas Becker.

He was a counter clerk at Eastern Electric for over 20 years, and later worked for the Springfield Housing Authority.

Robert was originally from Ephrata, PA and received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, where he served his country while stationed in Naples, Italy. While in the Navy, Robert traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East, as a pitcher for the Navy Softball team.

Robert also leaves behind three brothers: Donald, Paul and Charles Becker; in addition to 13 grandchildren: Timothy Lamora, Michelle Becker, Nicole Menard, Brendan, Shane, Brady and Kelsey Becker; Michael, Kristin and Andrew Langevin; Matthew, Valerie and Alyssa Becker. Robert also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren: Vanessa, Alex and Aubree Menard; Kaleb, Noah and Kameron Lamora; and Trevor Becker.

Bob will always be remembered for his kindness, courage and quiet strength.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, Ocr. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main St., Agawam, Mass. His funeral will take place on Friday, Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
