Sallie E. Zerbe Haldeman, 87, homemaker, school crossing guard, enjoyed granddaughters

Sallie E. Zerbe Haldeman, 87, of Reamstown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus, June 10, 2016. She would have celebrated her 88th birthday on June 25.

She was born in Brecknock Township to the late Joseph and Edna (Kramer) Zerbe, and was the wife of the late Robert L. Haldeman, who passed away in 1996.

Sallie was a member of the Reamstown Church of God. She loved butterflies, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her granddaughters. Previously, she had worked for Moyer’s and the Cinderella Knitting Mill, and had been a homemaker and school crossing guard for many years.

Sallie is survived by two sons: Kevin, husband of Brenda (Althouse); and Robert, husband of Beth (Seibert), both of Ephrata, five granddaughters: Jamie, April, Summer, Aubrey, and Robin; brothers: John and Clayton Zerbe; and sisters: Guyula Seifrit and Dorothy Anderson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters: Joseph, Ella, Chester, Leon, Luke, Paul, George, William, and Shirley.

Services were held June 14 at Reamstown Church of God, Stevens, with Pastor Arthur T. Karick officiating. Interment took place in the Middle Creek Brethren Cemetery.
