Samuel K. Woods

93, Coast Guard Reserves, Yorktowne foreman, active at St. Paul’s church
Samuel K. Woods, 93, formerly of Adamstown, died Feb. 9, 2018, in Gardens at Stevens, formerly Denver Nursing Home.
Born in Spring Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Samuel C. and Mary (Mekiska) Woods.
Sam was a 1942 Shillington High School and 1944 Reading Business Institute graduate, and worked as a foreman for Yorktowne Manufacturing, Ephrata. Sam served in the Coast Guard Reserves. He was a member, former treasurer, council and choir member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Adamstown. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed tennis, softball, hunting and fishing.
Surviving is his wife of 72 years, Dorothy M. (Dickersheid) Woods, Gardens at Stevens; children: Donna (Robert) Steffy, Denver; Gary (Fran) Woods, Mohnton; grandchildren: Jamie, Ian, and Megan; and great-grandchildren: Victoria, Tyler, Ethan, Everleigh, and Griffin.
Siblings M. Kathleen Sybil and Robert H. Woods predeceased him.
The viewing & funeral will be private with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown. Kindly omit flowers.
