Shelby Jean Eppinette, 72, of Myerstown, passed Monday, May 30, 2016, at home.

Shelby was a lifelong resident of the area and resided for some years in Louisiana. She was born in Ephrata to the late Donald and Emily (Moore) Feltenberger. She was the long-time companion of Harold R. Leed.

Together they enjoyed horseback riding, watching NASCAR, and attending races. Shelby loved the Delaware shore areas of Bethany and Rehoboth. She and Harold cared affectionately for “Shelby’s Zoo” of many cats, dogs, and a parrot named Junior. Shelby was an enthusiastic animal lover and activist and a member of the Mountain Trail Riders Club.

Shelby formerly worked as a machine operator for the Ephrata Shoe Co., at the WIC office in Ephrata, and later at the Pancake Farm, as well as for other employers in her long, hard-working history.

Shelby is survived by her son: Joe Moore, husband of Lisa-Kay (Emfinger), of Louisiana; and her daughter: Lori Lorah-Sauder (Lambert), wife of David Sauder, of Denver. She adored her three grandchildren: Austen and Alexandra Lambert, and Justin Spillers. She is survived by two sisters: LeReta (Feltenberger), wife of Charles Senft; Janice, wife of Ronnie Martin; and a brother: Donald Feltenberger Jr., husband of Sharon. She is also Grandma to Harold’s immediate family: his daughter: Nicole Kalbach; grandchildren: Tiffany Laster (Kalbach) and Cory Kalbach (deceased); as well as three great-grandchildren, all of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her devoted sister: Coletta, wife of Jerry Eppinette. Shelby is now gloriously joined with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; her sister Coletta; her mother: Emily; her favorite aunt: Dot; and the many family members she has missed over the years.

A life celebration was held June 6 at Ephrata Church of the Brethren, followed by a gathering at her daughter’s home in Denver.
