Shirley A. Long, 82, married 61 years, enjoyed crosswords, reading, Phillies fan

Shirley A. Long, 82, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Akron to the late Ira and Maria (Dissinger) Haldeman, and was the wife of Robert R. Long, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.

Shirley enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, spending time with family, and was an avid Phillies fan.

In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by a daughter: Deborah A. (Jeffery) Hess; two grandsons: Andrew (Samantha) Hess, and Erik Hess and companion, Autumn Wright; and a great-grandson: R.J. Hess.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Kenneth Long; and a sister: Dorothy Rebo.

Services were held Oct. 31 at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver, with Pastor Steve Holubec officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery Annex. Kindly omit flowers.
