Stanley E. Bouder, 77, Ephrata, USMC vet, worked at Alcoa, dirt track racing fan, collector

Stanley E Bouder, 77, of Ephrata entered into rest Feb. 26, 2018, as the result of injuries sustained in a work-related auto accident on Feb. 12.

A 1958 graduate of Ephrata High School, he served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1962, worked for 25 years at Alcoa’s Lancaster plant until its closing and sold real estate in Century 21’s Ephrata office. Most recently he worked as a courier for Way Messenger and Phoenix Courier until his passing.

Stan was an avid race fan, traveling to hundreds of dirt tracks across the eastern and Midwestern U.S. He was voted president of the LANCO Micro Midget Club twice and worked at Speedway Gallery in Akron, selling racing souvenirs at Clyde Martin Memorial and Penn National Speedways

He enjoyed photography for many years, riding motorcycles, collected stamps, coins and American Flyer trains. He was very interested in politics and was active in the Tea Party movement.

The son of Richard L. and Eleanor K. Bouder of Ephrata, he is survived by a son: Brian, of Stevens; a grandson: Jason of Northern Cambria; two sisters: Geraldine, wife of Lester Gelsinger of Denver; Sharon, wife of David Ulrich of Ephrata; a brother: Gerald, married to Margaret Neff of Lock Haven; a niece: Deb, wife of David Wenrich of Ephrata; and a nephew: Davis Ulrich of Akron and his two sons.

A memorial service will be conducted at Gravenor Home for Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, on Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends before the service, from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment with military honors will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday at Lincoln Cemetery, Ephrata.
