Stella Mae Weaver, 99, Bollman Hat Co. retiree, crocheted, active in church

Stella Mae Weaver, 99, of Adamstown, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at the Denver Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Feb. 25, 1914, in Adamstown, the daughter of the late Steven and Daisy (Werner) Schweitzer and was the wife of the late Harrold Weaver.

Stella was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ, where she was in charge of the ushers and greeters for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, having made over 125 afghans and lap robes.

She was a lifetime resident of Adamstown, where she retired from Bollman Hat Co.

Stella is survived by a son: George, husband of Jean Groff of Sunbury; three grandchildren: Kathy, wife of Richard Sharetzsky of Palmyra; Cindy, wife of Paul Dailey of Sunbury and Jil, wife of Erik Barnum of Palmdale, Calif.; five great-grandchildren: Drake Sharetzsky, Rachel and Zachary Dailey, Aley and Christopher Barnum and sister: Shirley, wife of Gene Endy of Vinemont.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by five brothers: Percy, Richard, Freeland, John and Edward Schweitzer; five sisters: Anna Whytmyer, Evelyn Reinholds, Pauline Hurst, Floss Landis, and Verna Schlegal and a step-brother: Elwood Fritz.

Memorial contributions in Stella’s name made be made to the Peace United Church of Christ, 37 E. Swartzville Rd., Denver, PA 17517.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
