Stephen L. Grogg, 32, died in an automobile accident Thursday Jan. 23, 2014 in Litchfield, Conn.

He was living in Warren, Conn. with his family after having lived his dream at the beach in Pensacola, Fla. He was born in the Reading Hospital in West Reading on Aug. 30, 1981.

He is the son of Marilyn (Becker) Grogg, beloved brother to Ryan Charles Grogg, and grandson of Harold C. Becker, Sr. He has three uncles: Harold Becker Jr. (Butch), Glenn Becker, John Cassidy (Uncle Cass and Aunt Dawne) and an Aunt Kathy Fegley, married to Greg Fegley. He is also survived by his cousins: Vanessa, Alison, Sarah, Brynn, Lisa, Michael and Alex, and special new addition to the family, cousin Wyatt. He is also survived by Aunt Cynthia Grogg, cousins Heath, married to Nicole and Shane Grogg as well as cousins Kelly and Lauren.

He is also survived by his soul-mate and fiancé: Tara Nicole Carvell and the boys he was in the process of adopting: Killian Eugene and Gavin Nicholas; his best friend: Nick and Tiffany Grill and goddaughters: Belinda and Kalei. Not to be forgotten and certainly last but not least, his best buddy, Bleu, who he rescued as a puppy.

He is predeceased by his grandmother: Dorothy Jane Becker; his grandmother: Nancy Marie Becker and great-grandparents: Charles and Catharine Becker and Charles (Toby) Winner and Rosena Winner.

He attended Cocalico High School in Denver, where he has many friends. Stephen was a friend to many, loved by all who knew him and will be missed by all. He was an avid Eagles fan (Fly, Eagles, Fly!).

There will be a memorial service in Pennsylvania Feb 8 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 108 S. Robeson St, Robesonia at 1 p.m. with a social to follow. On Feb. 8 at 5 p.m., a celebration of Stephen’s life will be held at the Reamstown Athletic Association at 76 N. Reamstown Rd, Reamstown, PA 17567.
