Stephen M. Dunmire, 54, Goodhart Sons accountant, avid sports fan, enjoyed camping, beach

Stephen M. Dunmire, 54, Ephrata, died unexpectedly on June 17, 2016, at Ephrata Hospital.

Born in Hollidaysburg, a son of the late Kenneth C. and Golda D. (Claar) Dunmire, he was a 1979 Hollidaysburg High School graduate and received his associates degree with honors from Elmira Business Institute, Elmira, N.Y.

He was a junior accountant with Goodhart Sons, Leola. Stephen was a member of Olive Leaf Bible Church, Sinking Spring; and Reservoir Bible Church, Hollidaysburg; and attended St. John’s Reformed Church, Sinking Spring. He was an avid sports fan, specifically of Pittsburgh teams, Penn State, and the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers. He enjoyed camping, Myrtle Beach trips, and family times, especially with his nieces and nephews.

Surviving is his life partner: Steven M. Bowman, at home; sisters: Sylvia Adams, Columbia, S.C.; Shirley Martz, Cresson; Sara Helsel, Duncansville; Dorothy Kauruter, Elgin, S.C.; and Diane Eyer, Altoona; brothers: Richard Dunmire, Manheim; and Timothy Dunmire, Lititz. He was the proud “father” of his Miniature Schnauzers: Ellie, Annie, Gracie; and the late Abby and Ally.

Brothers, Gary, Paul, and Wayne, predeceased him.

A viewing will be held Saturday, June 25, from 10 to 11 a.m., from Zion Lutheran Church, 18 Quarry Road, Leola, with services at 11 a.m. Everyone is encouraged to wear Pittsburgh or Penn State colors.
