Susan J. Mulligan, Worked at Lighthouse Vocational Services, loved all unconditionally

Susan J. Mulligan, daughter of Darlene (Mulligan) Davenport and the late Joseph S. Mulligan, formerly of Warrington, now residing in Denver, died recently.

Susan was born July 18, 1970, in Philadelphia. She has had medical problems since age seven months. She became mentally challenged and was poster child for Montgomery County at age five. At age 25, a story about Susan and her mother appeared in the book “Mothers and Daughters” by Carole Saline.

Susan attended special education classes until age 21, when she started working at BARC Productions Services, Warminster, a workshop for the mentally challenged. In January 2016, after moving to Lancaster County, she was diagnosed with colon cancer.

For the last eight months of her life, Susan spent her days enjoying her new friends at Lighthouse Vocational Services, New Holland. Susan will be remembered for her unconditional love for all people. She made everyone laugh; she made everyone smile.

Relatives and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday evening, July 12, at the Decker Funeral Home, 216 York Road, Warminster, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, at the Chapel of Peace, at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 W. County Line Road, Feasterville.

On Susan’s birthday, July 18, at 5 p.m., a memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 80 E. Main St., Adamstown.
