Titus M. ‘Tidy’ Riegner, 85, long-time truck driver, accordion player, enjoyed remote-control planes

Titus M. “Tidy” Riegner, 85, of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Clayton to the late Wesley and Emma (Moyer) Riegner, and was the husband of Roma R. (Paul) Riegner, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.

Titus was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Denver. He was a truck driver for more than 40 years and was a member of Kokaliko RC flying club in Blainsport. He enjoyed woodworking, remote control airplanes, word search puzzles, and music. He played the accordion and the organ.

In addition to his wife, Titus is survived by two sons: Robert C., husband of Robin (Koons) Riegner; and Ronald J., husband of Duane (Fronheiser) Riegner, both of Bechtelsville; a daughter: Joan, wife of Dr. Jeff Dekret, of Pottstown; five grandchildren: Kevin W. Bachman of Mohnton; Stefanie Bachman of Philadelphia: Lindsey B., Troy R., and Corbin Riegner, all of Bechtelsville; two great-grandchildren; Julia C. and Sean G. Bachman of Bechtelsville; and a sister: Mary M. Miller of Honeybrook.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Harris M., Joseph M., and Henry M. Riegner; and sisters; Amanda Schultz, and his twin: Naomi Schoenly.

Services were held June 11 at St. John’s UCC, Denver, with the Rev. David R. Brumbaugh officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
