Virginia Slabach Wolf, geriatric nurse at Hamilton Arms, avid knitter, enjoyed traveling

Virginia Slabach Wolf died June 21, 2017, at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy.

She was born in Brecknock Township on Jan. 28, 1932, to Robert E. Slabach and Suzie Gehr Slabach Miller.

Virginia graduated from the Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing with the Class of 1952 and was a life member of the alumni association. She was most recently employed as a geriatric nurse at Hamilton Arms Nursing and Rehab Center in Lancaster for 20 years before retiring in 1996.

As a member of the Lancaster Unitarian Universalist Church, Virginia was active on many committees over the years. She was an avid knitter and made Christmas stockings for the children of several generations of family and friends. Virginia and her husband Charles traveled together all over the world.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 64 years: Charles T. Wolf; three daughters: Diane, wife of Geary Barnes, of Chicago, Ill. and Houston, Texas; Susan, wife of Daniel Bielawa, of Lancaster; and Amy, wife of Rolf Gubler, of Luray, Va.; and seven grandchildren: Tyler Barnes and Barrett Barnes-Wolf; Rory, Emory, and Liam Wolf-Bielawa; and Klaire and Charles Gubler.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by a brother: Robert E. Lee Slabach.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 19, 2017 in the Gamber Auditorium of the Viva Center at Woodcrest Villa, 2001 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster.
