Weaver Martin, 95, farmer, carpenter

Weaver W. Martin, 95, of New Holland, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Ephrata Township, he was the son of the late Levi W. and Ida W. (Weaver) Martin. His wife, Mabel B. (Martin) Martin, died Aug. 14, 2007.

Weaver was a farmer, carpenter and later he worked at Quality Fencing, New Holland. He was also a member of the Stauffer Mennonite Church.

Surviving are seven sons: Elvin, husband of Ellen (Halteman) Martin, of Souderton; Leroy, husband of Rachel (Zeiset) Martin, of East Earl; Daniel, husband of Patricia (Hostetler) Martin, of Richland; James, husband of Linda (Johnson) Martin, of Mt. Pleasant Mills; Timothy, husband of Elsie (Glick) Martin, of New Holland; Lloyd, husband of Roxann (Stauffer), of Fivepointville; and Edwin, husband of Dorothy (Bailey) Martin, of Ephrata; eight daughters: Lucy, wife of Robert Stauffer, of Ephrata; Elsie, wife of Michael Reaver, of New Holland; Mary Martin, of New Holland; Alta, wife of Leon Brubacher, of Fivepointville; Rachel Martin, of New Holland; Anna, wife of James Auker, of Homer City; Ruth, wife of Russel Auker, of Ephrata; and Julia, wife of Elmer Brubacher, of Leonardtown, Md.; 44 grandchildren; 86 great- grandchildren; and a sister: Ida Ann, wife of Luke Brubacker, of Ephrata.

Preceding him in death are four grandchildren; two brothers: Aaron and Lester; and three sisters: Edna Martin, Eva Gehman and Lena Brubaker.

Funeral services will be held on Sept. 8 at 8:30 a.m. at the home of Lucy and Robert Stauffer, 2186 Division Hwy., Ephrata, with further services at 9 a.m. at the Stauffer Mennonite Church. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
