Sensenigs celebrate 70 years of marriage

Earl and Dorothy Sensenig, Ephrata, are celebrating 70 years of marriage. They were married on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1948, at the bride’s home in Blue Ball by the bride’s father, Rev. John W. Burkholder.

Earl and Dorothy farmed in Ephrata Township. Earl served as a minister at the Martindale Mennonite Church, and later as the bishop of the Martindale District of the Lancaster Mennonite Conference.

They are the parents of Susan Hollinger, Leonard Sensenig, Lowell Sensenig, Kenneth Sensenig, J. Carl Sensenig, Ann Martin, Barbara Weaver, and Doris Beachy. They also have 43 grandchildren,104 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

They celebrated their anniversary with their children with a meal and a time of reflection.
