Martin, Parsons earn top L-L seeds

Cocalico’s Sawyer Martin and Kylee Parsons of Ephrata each have earned number one seeds heading into the L-L League Swimming Championships set for Thursday (boys) and Friday (girls) at Lititz recCenter.

Martin is seeded first in the boys 100 freestyle with a top time of 48.78. He also has garnered the three seed in the 200 free (1:47.45).

As for Parsons, the Ephrata senior earned the top seed in the girls 200 free (1:55.94), ahead of Warwick star junior Emily Cameron (1:57.97). Parsons also is seeded fourth in the 50 free (25.32).

In addition to Martin and Parsons, other local swimmers earning seedings include: Collin Haines, Cocalico- second seed in the boys 200 I.M. (2:04.36) & fourth seed in the boys 100 back (57.07); Jon Husson, Ephrata- fourth seed in the boys 100 breast (1:06.22) & sixth seed in the 50 free (22.92); Olivia Evans, Cocalico- second in the girls 100 back (1:01.74) & fourth seed in the girls 100 fly (1:01.15); Samantha Marino, Cocalico- third seed in the girls 100 fly (1:01.10) & fifth seed in the girls 100 back (1:03.24); Katie Zell, Ephrata- fourth seed in the girls 200 I.M. (2:16.28) & fourth seed in the girls 100 breast (1:11.60); Sidney Evans, Cocalico- fourth seed in the girls 500 free (5:25.20) & fifth seed in the girls 200 I.M. (2:16.62); Tara Rakewicz, Cocalico- third seed in the girls 100 breast (1:11.18).

Four local relays are seeded as well. On the girls side, Ephrata is fourth in the 200 free relay while Cocalico has garnered a fourth seed in the 400 free relay. On the boys’ side, Cocalico is fifth seeded in the 200 free relay and seventh seeded in the 200 medley relay.

Action is set to begin at 7 p.m. on both nights.
