Raymond C. Bollinger, 65, Ephrata, drove for several transport companies, 4-H leader

Raymond C. Bollinger, 65, of Ephrata, was called to his Heavenly home Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, after a brief illness.

He was born April 26, 1950, in Upper Leacock Township to the late Adam B. and Elizabeth (Buffenmyer) Bollinger. He was the loving husband of Sharon F. (Musser) Bollinger for 44 years.

Ray was a dedicated truck driver for 45 years. In 2015 he retired from PV Transport as a livestock transporter. He had been previously employed by Good’s Livestock, Wicks Components, Earl Martin Trucking, and Gehman’s Feed Mill.

Ray was a 1969 graduate of Ephrata High School and a member of the Cloister FFA. He was a member of the Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, Ephrata. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, the beach, and raising sheep. Ray was a 4-H leader for five years. Most of all, he loved his family. His children and grandchildren were his passion in life.

In addition to his wife, Raymond is survived by two sons: Jeffrey R., husband of Deb (Keffer) Bollinger, of Reinholds; Keith D. Bollinger of Manheim; grandchildren: Ryan and Kimberly Seymour; Billie Jo, Codi, Zachary and Emily Bollinger; a sister: Martha, wife of Glenn Summy, of Ephrata; two brothers: Glenn, husband of Edna (Bollinger) Bollinger, of Ephrata; James, husband of Gerry (Bollinger) Bollinger, of Ephrata; father-in-law: Phares G. Musser; and a brother-in-law: Donald, husband of Stacey (Beard) Musser.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Jerry R. Bollinger.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 110 Durlach Road, Ephrata. An additional viewing will take place on Friday, April 1, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the church, followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastors Rocky Hambrick and Kenneth Higginbotham officiating. Interment will take place in the Middle Creek Brethren Cemetery.
